Expo 2020 Dubai

will be the first World Expo ever hosted in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region. Through the theme of Connecting Minds, Creating the Future, the Expo 2020 aims to host a World Expo that inspires people by showcasing the best examples of collaboration, innovation and cooperation from around the world. The Expo 2020 contacted us, to support them in creating a virtual event for several thematic weeks, prior to the physical start of the Expo 2020

Each Virtual Event

was broadcasted globally and, depending on the thematic week, could be viewed in English, Arabic, French and Spanish. The solution that mimic offers featured real-time simultaneous interpreting.

Login

was one way to view the event. Certain guests were invited, via a special invitation, that included login credentials. This top tier of viewers had stage interaction privileges, thaty allowed them to participate in real time polling, real time voting and Q&A. These guests were preselected from different educational, governmental and semi-governmental institutions.

Open Viewing

enabled anyone and everyone with internet access to watch the event. Guests could access the event via a broadcast as a LIVE stream on youtube, vimeo and periscope. Behind the scenes, the mimic virtual platform is scalable and allowed guests with different quality of internet connections to still see the event though our CDN (cloud distribution network) in the best quality possible for them.

Speaker

and stage management are paramount for a global virtual event of this size. In order to run smoothly a reliable and robust communication module was integrated into the platform to deliver these elements. Each of the events had multiple speakers coming from all regions of the world which made the management and flow of communication even more important.

Security

protocols were followed, and the whole event was run securely from the cloud.

Full team of professionals

was mobilized to deliver this event. Including a technical director and a project manager, audio and video controllers, virtual camera operators, sound guy, VT playback, show caller, translators, and a many more typical positions you would expect to find at a regular physical event of this size and stature.
